Mr. Epstein joined MTS as a Partner in January of 2008, primarily responsible for the development of the life sciences and financing practices, and became a Managing Partner in 2018.  Prior to joining MTS, Mr. Epstein was a Managing Director and co-head of Banc of America Securities’ Private Equity Placements Group. Mr. Epstein has over twenty-five years of investment banking experience with a strong focus on privately negotiated financing transactions within the healthcare sector. Mr. Epstein has developed a broad set of long-standing investor relationships across the venture capital funds, hedge funds and special situations funds focused on biotechnology and healthcare. Mr. Epstein has significant transaction experience across a wide range of private equity and equity-linked products, including traditional private equity financings, common stock and structured PIPEs, crossover financings, acquisition financings and special purpose vehicles. Mr. Epstein has completed over 200 private financings for clients, raising over $10 billion in private capital. Mr. Epstein was previously at Merrill Lynch & Co. where he was a Vice President and co-head of direct private equity placements. Mr. Epstein also helped establish the private equity placement practice at Prime Charter, where he spent four years and began his career at Dean Witter Reynolds in 1992. Mr. Epstein earned his B.S. from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated magna cum laude.
